Tamara Christman, MA, MEd, LPC

Psychotherapist

Tamara is a gender-affirming and client-centered therapist with over 25 years of experience working in school counseling, administration, and community-based settings. She specializes in helping clients navigate life transitions, eating disorders, mood disorders, and self-esteem challenges. With a focus on emotional regulation, she guides individuals, families, and groups through the process of identifying their strengths to manage negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors more effectively.

Tamara’s eclectic therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. She has advanced training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Neuropsychological Counseling, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), allowing her to offer a comprehensive range of tools to support her clients’ healing and growth. Her work is tailored to older teens, adults, and geriatric clients who are committed to improving their quality of life.

In addition to her counseling work, Tamara brings a strong background in personal training and sports nutrition. She holds degrees in Psychology and Family Issues from James Madison University, Clinical Counseling from Liberty University and Virginia Commonwealth University, and Educational Administration from Shenandoah University. She is currently pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University.

Tamara is a dedicated member of the American Counseling Association and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation, where she is working toward becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. Her passion for guiding clients to live their best lives is evident in her compassionate and inclusive approach to care.
